What Are The Failure Modes Of Friction Pads?

1. Wear of imported friction pads

Wear is divided into sliding wear, adhesive wear and uneven wear.

(1) Sliding wear

The wire rope and the pad will be displaced relative to each other, and the wire rope with rough surface will pull out scratches on the pad surface. That is, the pads cause sliding wear. The longer the relative displacement distance, the more serious the sliding wear. The occurrence of sliding wear is closely related to the friction coefficient of the material. Friction imported pad manufacturers believe that under the same conditions, the higher the friction coefficient, the shorter the relative sliding distance and the smaller the sliding wear.

(2) Adhesive wear

During the lifting work, the wire rope is often in contact with the pad. Under the action of alternating pressure, the high-strength wire rope is attached to the surface with a small pad material - pad, which causes wear.

Adhesive wear is related to the bonding force between material molecules. Adding inorganic substances to the material will destroy the consistency of the material, reduce the intermolecular bonding force, and aggravate the adhesive wear. Sliding wear and adhesive wear are normal losses if the choice of friction pad material satisfies the normal operation of the elevator.

(3) uneven wear

Inconsistent wear at the end of the rope: During the use of the pad, the working state of each rope must be the same, and the wear and tear of the rope must be consistent. If a rope is mixed together and not the same as the others, it can be judged that the working state of a steel wire rope has changed. , the wire rope needs to be adjusted at this time, and the groove of the rope needs to be adjusted at the same time. The rope is trimmed: the whole rope is oval, this is because a certain wire rope is abnormal, it is necessary to remove the abnormality of the wire rope and adjust the groove of the rope at the same time.

two,

When the equipment is running normally, the pressure on the gasket is lower than 3MPa. The friction imported gasket manufacturer believes that this pressure is much lower than the compressive strength and will not cause damage. The steel wire rope and the liner are in the same front medium, and the medium is mixed with coal ash, etc., so that these hard spots grow on the liner under appropriate conditions, forming pits on the mat surface, and the pits are subsequently enlarged under the multiple actions of the particles. After that, the oil goes into the pit. When the pressure is greater than the bearing capacity of the material, the weak part of the material, that is, the edge of the concave, cracks uniformly, acts multiple times, and the cracking will eventually become larger and deeper. The fragments are joined together and the next cycle begins. Moreover, the ring speed is accelerated, the time shrinks, the elasticity and toughness of the material are accelerated, the pitting peeling speed is accelerated, the good material of the elastic force is determined, and after the particle presses the outer space, the pit recovers quickly. That is to say, when a pit is formed, the number of times the particle acts on it is more. The material is good, the crack protection is slow.

Therefore, similar materials, high hardness, poor endothelial performance, and almost corrosion in use are the main reasons for the wear of imported gaskets.

The material properties at a certain depth decline sharply. Once this phenomenon occurs, it is necessary to remove unnecessary oil and impurities between the wire rope and the surface as soon as possible.

Third, the wear of the liner usually occurs at the edge of the rope drum. The manufacturer of friction imported liner believes that there are two main reasons. One reason is the aging of the material. Another reason is that the material is subjected to greater alternating stress.

In the first case, due to the fundamental change of material properties, the continuous use of the pad has a great risk, and the manufacturer of friction imported pads recommends that it must be replaced immediately.

In the second case, the alternating stress is caused by the inconsistency of the diameter of some rope grooves with the diameter of the wire rope. The diameter of the wire rope is larger than the diameter of the rope groove. When the wire rope enters the rope groove, the side of the rope groove, especially the sharp corner of the rope groove, is subjected to the greatest extrusion pressure, and the wire rope is tightly wrapped. The pulling force and the extrusion pressure disappear at the same time. When used for many times, the material structure will be fatigued. When the structure force of the structure is less than the extrusion pressure exerted by the outside, sharp corners will be generated.

The equipment balance adjustment is not good, the lift will cause the wire rope to shake or vibrate when it is running. Kinetic energy from jitter and vibration acting on the pads over time may also cause the edges of the pad grooves to fall in weaker places. But the friction import liner manufacturer believes that in this case, depending on the degree of swing of the wire rope, the size of each groove may be different, and a loop of rope may also be dropped.
